How to survive in the modern world?

As long ago as the beginning of the past century scientists were aware of the importance of CO2 (carbon dioxide) in oxygen supply of the body and the brain. Doctors used paper bags to neutralize the syndrome of lungs hyperventilation of a patient who suffered prolonged anxiety. Inhalation of CO2-enriched air was in practice when treating patients for carbon monoxide poisoning. During WWI air force used cylinders with compressed CO2-enriched gas in anoxaemia-fighting (at that time the cabins were not pressurized).

For a variety of reasons the need of such methods dropped off. But as it is said, the development of history is cyclical. Half a century later inhalation of hypercapnic blends (with increased content of CO2) was first used in cosmonautics as a preventive measure against cardiovascular disorders.

There is about 2% of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere on board of a spaceship (the atmosphere of earth contains only 0.03%). Breathing in such atmosphere protects astronauts' cardiovascular system from super hypodynamia, which can be caused by state of weightlessness.

The author of “the active breathing environment” is N.A.Agadzhanyan, the director of the Aircraft and Space Medicine Institute laboratory. He proved that a lot of chronic diseases and essential hypertension as well, can be cured by increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in the organism.

A powerful spur to creation of the “Samozdrav” complex in 1997 was the book by N.A.Agadzhanyan “The physiological role of carbon dioxide and efficiency of a person”. A lot of different facts concerning breathing, that used to be uncoordinated, were analyzed in the book from a single standpoint (complete list of literature on the topic you can find in our book “Overcoming the deadlock”).

Today N.A.Agadzhanyan, the full member of Academy of Medical Sciences of Russia, is one of the most authoritative physiological scientists.
